FEELING THE HEAT?

It is getting difficult to fit in doing my artwork, watching the World Cup and tending to an allotment. The beautiful weather which was tempting me outside is now almost so good that it is almost too hot to bear.

Since my last update I have attended a meeting at the Bailiffgate Museum with Hannah Forsyth about our prospective joint exhibition in April 2027. Hannah is a Low Newton based artist whose subject matter is Northumberland landscapes like my own. You can find out more about Hannah by clicking on this link >>> https://www.forsyth-studio4.com/ . I have also been doing some observation drawing so that I don’t lose the habit. These graphite drawings led me to produce a drawing of Greys Bathing House near Craster which has in turn led me start an acrylic painting of the same subject.

Monarda FireBall - graphite - 10x15cm

I have also done a Joan Eardley tribute using the I Pad and ProCreate. For Father’s Day I was given a book about Joan’s life and work at Catterline and it a moving read.

The two canvases that I have been working on are very close to being finished and I will soon be taking stock and preparing my work for the ‘On The Edge’ exhibition that I am curating at the Alnwick Playhouse in September.
