COMPLETING WORK!

In the last two weeks I have completed or very nearly completed two paintings that I have been working on for what seems like ages. I nearly repainted the foreground of my painting “ Turquoise Van” after weeks of trying to work out what was wrong with it. In a light bulb moment I decided to repaint it on the I pad using ProCreate and then when I was happy repaint it using the digital version as source material.

The second acrylic I had been working on “Low Newton” has had a much calmer finale and I have only added the final touches. In the meantime I started and finished a painted version of “Greys Bathing House from the Fields” in a matter of days which is a pleasant departure from spending weeks on end toiling away changing small details.

I have also completed a small pastel study based on one of my favourites subject the “The One Tree at Alnmouth”. I am quite pleased with the result and plan to do some more studies in this quicker freer style.

Finally I have started to pick which paintings and drawings are to be framed for my upcoming exhibition “On the Edge”at the Alnwick Playhouse in September. For this exhibition I am likely to have more artwork than I need and I will have some difficult decisions to make.
