It’s four weeks before my exhibition “On The Edge - Amble to Bamburgh” at the Alnwick Playhouse and I can feel the panic setting in. I have however done a stock take of work I have under this theme and I have far too many pictures to fit in the generous space there is at the gallery. I have framed nearly all of the artwork I intend to exhibit and the posters have now been printed.

Since my last post I have managed to complete two more paintings which done as a time trial. I tried to start and complete them within two or so hours. I managed this and I feel that it has made the pictures fresher and a bit looser. The first I did was of a shed near Lower Hauxley and included more vegetation than usual with the sea glimpsed in the background. The second picture was the first in my next project which will be based on the work of garden designer Rael Rawlinson. I am excited by this theme but I have had to hold back somewhat as I still have an exhibition to organise in September.

Hopefully when I next report I should be able to remark how smoothly all the planning of my exhibition has gone.
